Summer

This is the first summer in a few years that I have been able to really enjoy my children in their time off school. 

Three summers ago I started the summer very pregnant and uncomfortable and ended the summer with a new baby boy.  That summer was dotted with periods of fun but the late pregnancy and early baby times are always such a blur that you can never look back and really enjoy.

Two summers ago I did summer care for a friends 2 girls who are the same ages as my girls.  I thought this would make for a great time not only for me but for the girls.  Oh boy was I wrong about that one.  That was perhaps the longest summer I have had in a long time.  Suffice it to say that the 4 girls weren’t great together.

Last summer was great with the girls but lil man and the boys I watch were just too young to do fun activities so the summer came and went and we enjoyed each other but didn’t have any really fun times.

I am kind of sad to think of school starting this year.  I know it will bring back a schedule, which we lack in the summer, but I have enjoyed our little day trips and just watching what loving girls my daughters have become.  They help with lil man and the daycare children and are becoming such young women right before my eyes.
